Week of Oct. 17th

Wow! The Harvest Festival is right around the corner. Last year my class won by bringing in the most candy... let's do it again this year. Send in bags of candy for the Harvest Festival.

The spelling words this week are:

1. made
2. came
3. gave
4. late
5. say
6. day
7. may
8. make
9. tree
10. feed
11. October
12. pumpkin

I still need parent volunteers to man the booth for the Harvest Festival. Our theme (sharing the booth with Ms. D's 3rd grade class) is "Mad Scientists" Last year was a blast!! It is on October 28 from 6 - 8 PM. We do NOT wear costumes to school on Oct. 28 during the day, but we will be having a small Halloween party so you can drop off cookies, or snacks for everybody to share. The Harvest Festival the kids CAN wear costumes!

We have an opportunity to "adopt" 2 bats (one for the boys, and one for the girls) at Carlsbad Cavern's in New Mexico. The cost per student is only 65 CENTS... and it's a great way for the kids to get involved in a community service project, learn about conservation and how to save endangered animals. If you still want to meet with me to discuss your child's progress or his/her report card, I have a sign up sheet on my door.

Thanks ! Mrs. C
